We do have a long way to go but I think positive steps forward are being made and it's a matter now where we have to keep pushing on as much as we can on both local and national scales. Excitement that more people are catching on to the analogue of Vestlandet and sadness in a deja vu sense that we have been talking about this for so long, showing slides of Norway from as long ago as the mid 1970s and organising study trips since 1984, without the full drop of the penny. Sadness too at the way some of the conservation establishment resented the Norwegian analogue and the way some of it was put into action at Loch Garry in direct planting with more than the birch-willow minimalism in mind. Still the more the merrier and it's time to tack the intellectual shackles off and get out of the birch-bunker and Granny pine mentality.Ron Greernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3389677403170051773.post-15143264909143998832015-06-05T03:18:12.581-07:002015-06-05T03:18:12.581-07:00Lynn - this is great stuff and the parallels with ...Lynn - this is great stuff and the parallels with Carrifran, Corehead and T&G are obvious.
